Every year some amazing parents of Ward 84 pull together to organise a HUGE ward party, this is held at Victoria Baths near The Children’s Hospital so that the children being treated on the ward are still able to attend if they are well enough. This year we were able to help with the party by donating sweet cones for the children, helium for the balloons, flower arrangements for the angel room and also by donating our time on the day.
I can not put into words how much time and effort the organizers and volunteer’s put into making the day perfect, they are an incredible bunch of people. It was an honour to be able to be a part of the day this year.
The most beautiful part of the party is that no child from ward 84 is forgotten, they are all there with us in the Angel room, a room created especially to hang our angels and for families and friends to visit to take time to reflect. This year was the first year Joshua’s picture was hung on the wall of Angels.
The venue looked breath taking and the party was a huge success, all the children had huge smiles on their faces from start to finish, it was a day for them to take time away from the battle they are all facing, memories were made that will be cherished for a lifetime 🌈❤
